Jaakko ’Jaska’ Lukkarinen

Jaska Lukkarinen is a jazz drummer and a teacher. Jaska first fell in love with drums in the age of 11 after hearing and seeing Ringo Starr playing with the Beatles in Ed Sullivan Show. He has studied at the Sibelius Academy Jazz Department in Helsinki and Manhattan School of Music in New York. Jaska is a versatile musician with a strong groove and big ears. Jaska leads his own dynamic Jaska Lukkarinen Trio who have released 3 albums, the latest one being “Origami” (2016). Jaska is also known for his extensive work as a sideman with numerous bands from different styles, Ricky-Tick Big Band and Dalindèo among others.
